More Cruise Lines Suspend Operations Due to the Coronavirus
Cruise Lines Temporarily Cease Operation (30-60 Days) Due to the Coronavirus. |
Well the second shoe hit the floor today when the remainder
of the cruise lines operating – all agreed to temporarily cease operations.

- · Carnival (No Formal Statement Provided Yet – but expected)
- · Celebrity
- · Celestyal Cruises
- · Costa Cruises
- · Cruise and Maritime Voyages
- · Disney
- · Fred Olsen
- · MSC Cruises
- · Norwegian Cruise Line
- · Oceania
- · Regent
- · Royal Caribbean
- · Silversea
- · Windstar
The above cruise lines, all temporarily ceased operation today from 30-60 days
depending on the cruise line.
At the end of the day, President Trump says that he has
requested that the cruise industry shut down for 30 days effective at 11:59 PM
on Friday 3/13/2020.
A number of cruise destinations have turned away ships or
closed their ports.
- The cruise port of Baltimore has closed due to the State of Emergency declared in Maryland.
- Canada has closed all of their cruise ports – Both East Coast and West Coast until June for all ship carrying more than 500 passengers.
- St. Thomas refused entry of the Grandeur of the Seas into the port based on the fact that a crew member has visited Japan in the last 14 days. No passengers were ever diagnosed with the Coronavirus.

The Port of Miami has agreed to let ships remain
in the port for the next 30 days free of charge based on available berths.
