 RETURN TO NYCRUISEINFO.com Carnival Cruise Line today revealed additional details on BOLT, the first roller coaster at sea, and the centerpiece of the Ultimate Playground, an expansive open-air recreation area on Mardi Gras, set to debut in August 2020. The announcement was made at the annual International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA) Conference in Orlando by Carnival Cruise Line President Christine Duffy who was joined by the line’s Chief Fun Officer Shaquille O’Neal. Carnival partnered with industry leader, Munich-based Maurer Rides, to showcase BOLT at IAAPA which brings together innovators from the world’s largest theme parks and attractions. Duffy revealed that BOLT’s all-electric, motorcycle-inspired vehicles will be adorned with metallic red and blue stripes and an eye-catching yellow lightning bolt. Video Sneak Peak At the External Upgades of Royal Caribbean's Oasis of the Seas.

 RETURN TO NYCRUISEINFO.com Here is a short aerial video of the Oasis of the Seas showing off the external enhancements that were made during her amplification in Spain. The Renovations happened in October and November which transformed the ship internally and externally. The $165 Million dollar refit incorporated all of the latest features found in subsequent ships of the Oasis Class. The Oasis of the Seas is currently sailing from Miami, but will begin sailing from Cape Liberty, Bayonne, replacing the Anthem of the Seas, on the Florida, Bahamas and Private Island Cruise. The Anthem of the Seas will spend the spring, summer and fall of 2020 in Europe. Looking Back.... Greek Line's Olympia / Caribe / Regal Empress

 RETURN TO NYCRUISEINFO.com The video above is a great example of the ocean liners of yesterday. This video is of one of my favorite ships, Greek Line's TSS Olympia. The Olympia was built in Galscow Scotland in 1953 and carried passengers and cargo across the atlantic to Northern Europe and the Mediterranean. This interesting video cover many aspects of the journey including the voyage from a crew perspective, passenger perspective, handling of cargo, the navigation equiptment, engine room and more. The TSS Olympia operated for Greek Line from 1953 to the early 1970s. The ship was purchased by Sally Line / Commodore Cruises and extensively refitted. The TSS Olympia's engines were renovated as well re-emerging as the Caribe I. As part of the 1983 refit, she lost her stylish funnel and which was replaced with stove pipes with decorative panels leaned against the pipes to hide them. Departing from Boston on September 27, 2020, the 551 foot,  sleek vessel carries 228 passengers in decadent luxury. Amenities on the ship include a submarine for underwater exploration and a helicoper for extended exploration. The Norwegian Bliss will be transiting the Panama Canal again in April of 2020 as she makes her way from New York to the West Coast to sail summer  2020 Alaska Cruises. Royal Caribbean's Oasis of the Seas Back From $165 Million Dollar Refit.

On May 10, 2020 Royal Caribbean's Oasis of the Seas will depart New York for the first time marking a number of major milestones including: The first Oasis class ship to call at New York and the largest cruise ship ever to call at the port. The Oasis of the Seas is the first Oasis Class ship built for Royal Caribbean and has just competed (November 2019) a $165 million dollar refit which Royal Caribbean refers to as Amplification. The Oasis will sail a series of cruises departing from Cape Liberty, Bayonne, New Jersey calling at Port Canaveral, Florida; Nassau, Bahamas and CocoCay, Bahamas where passengers can enjoy the perfect day at Coco Cay (Royal Caribbean's Private Island destination).
