Cruise Ships in the Northeast Avoid Strong Storms

Today (Wednesday) 11/20/2019 Royal Caribbean's Anthem of the Seas is headed back to New York after spending the day in Coco Cay in the Bahamas. The Anthem is sailing on an 8 Day cruise which only visited the private island.

A strong storm has wreaked havoc on the northeast US causing cruise passengers and cruise lines scrambling for a path forward.
A strong nor’easter has come up the coast of the United States  stranding ships departing from New York and Baltimore in port. The storm was situated between their departure port and their desired destination of Florida and the Bahamas.  Royal Caribbean’s Anthem of the Seas was supposed to depart Cape Liberty on Saturday 11/16/2019 but remained in port until Monday morning at about 10:30 AM.

Norwegian Cruise Line's New Norwegian Encore Departs New York for Miami

On Wednesday 11/13/2019, Norwegian Cruise Line's newest ship, the Norwegian Encore left New York Pier 88 at 11:05 AM. The ship  has been in New York since its arrival late Sunday afternoon after a rendezvous with her sister ship Norwegian Escape.

The Norwegian Encore played host to select Media and travel personnel in order for visitor to experience the onboard experience. The Norwegian Encore features a GO Cart Roadway and also a laser tag course. From a dining perspective, the ship offers many included and some additional fee restaurants.

The Norwegian Encore in on her way - empty - crew only - and is heading to Miami, where she will be further showcased and christened by her godmother Kelly Clarkson. After inaugural events, the Norwegian Encore will sail 7 Day cruises from Miami. She is expected to arrive the morning of  Friday, November 15.

Celebrated actor, author and activist George Takei will headline the holiday voyage on Cunard’s flagship liner Queen Mary 2 as part of the luxury cruise line’s renowned Insights program, December 22, 2019 - Jan 3, 2020 (M001).

While sailing on the 12-night Caribbean Celebration voyage, round-trip out of New York, George will be offering two presentations, a Q&A, and a book signing for guests. His first talk will focus on American history and his childhood spent in a Japanese American internment camp during WWII. Cunard's 2021 World Cruise on The Queen Mary 2 Features Many Firsts.

Luxury cruise brand Cunard unveiled their Oceans of Discovery voyage program for November 2020 through May 2021, featuring Full World Voyages and in-depth itineraries in Japan and Australia. The Cunard fleet, including Queen Elizabeth, Queen Victoria, and flagship liner Queen Mary 2, will call at 94 destinations in 38 different countries, including four exciting maiden calls in Japan, Taiwan and New Zealand.

Queen Mary 2 will undertake her classic East-West World Voyage in 2021 to Australia and Asia, which includes the Mediterranean, Arabian Gulf, Indian Ocean and Southern Africa. The World Cruise can be taken as a roundtrip from either New York (113 nights) or London (99 nights). Norwegian Cruse Line Takes Delivery of Norwegian Encore - Ship to Preview to Press and Agents in New York.

Norwegian Cruise Line, the innovator in global cruise travel, today took delivery of its newest ship, Norwegian Encore, in Bremerhaven, Germany.
This highly anticipated milestone begins a nearly month-long tour with preview events scheduled in Europe, New York and Miami, including the ship’s naming ceremony on Nov. 21, 2019. In attendance were Norwegian Cruise Line and Meyer Werft executives.

Exciting Fun Ship Choices Found on the Carnival Radiance and Carnival Sunrise.

The Carnival Sunrise has already completed her extensive refit and the Carnival Victory is next. The Carival Vitory will emerge from the shipyard as the Carnival Radiance in the Spring of 2020 - after a  $200 Million dollar refit.
