Carnival Cruises Carnival Triumph to Replace Carnival Horizon in 2019 Sailing From New York.

In a surprise move, Carnival Cruises will replace the Carnival Horizon with the Carnival Triumph in 2019 sailing from New York. Originally Carnival planned to have the new Carnival Horizon return next year but has changed their minds.

Built at Italy's Fincantieri Shipyard in 1999, the 101,509 ton Carnival Horizon measures 893 feet long, 116 feet wide and has a 27 foot draft. She carries 3,143 passengers and 1,100 crew.

The Carnival Triumph will sail from New York starting in May -> September 2019 to Bermuda, Turks and Caicos, New England, Canada, and special 14 day cruise with partial transit of the Panama Canal.
