- Carnival Cruises' Carnival Sunrise spent most of Saturday sailing in circles off the coast of Cape May and Atlantic City NJ. The ship which was supposed to sail to Charleston, SC and Bermuda - aborted her call in Bermuda. Hurricane Humberto knocked out power to the island and created extremely rough seas causing the ship to head toward New York well ahead of her expected arrival date.
- Princess Cruises' Regal Princess embarked passengers on a New England Canada Cruise on Saturday after arriving in New York from a Transatlantic Cruise.
Oceania Cruises' Insignia was one of 7 Ships that Called at the Port of New York / New Jersey This Weekend. |
- Sunday the Manhattan Cruise Terminal played host to AIDA Cruises' AIDAdiva, Oceania Cruises' Insignia and Norwegian Cruise Line's Norwegian Epic. While Brooklyn Cruise Terminal supported Carnival Cruise's Carnival Sunrise and Cape Liberty Played host to Royal Caribbean's Anthem of the Seas. In total - 5 ships!
- The Carnival Sunrise made Carnival Cruise's maiden call at the Brooklyn Cruise Terminal. The ship disembarked passengers from the prior cruise and embarked passenger for the next cruise which sailed to New England / Canada. The Carnival Sunrise left Sunday shortly after 5 PM. The Carnival Sunrise called at Brooklyn due to a full house at the Manhattan Cruise Terminal.
