This past weekend Celebrity Cruises Celebrity Summit returned to New York - (actually Cape Liberty Bayonne, NJ) to begin her 2018 season from the port. Norwegian Cruise Line's Norwegian Escape Sailing from New York - Courtesy of Norwegian Cruise Line. Last Sunday Norwegian Cruise Line's Norwegian Breakaway departed its long time homeport of New York for European Waters. The Norwegian Breakaway will sail a spring, summer and fall season of cruises from Germany and Copenhagen Denmark to Northern Europe. Her replacement, the Norwegian Escape, after loading stores but NO passengers, departed Miami early on Friday morning (4/20/2018). The ship cruised full speed to New York and arrived on Sunday 4/22/2018 entering the harbor at 11:00 AM and docking at the New York Passenger Ship Terminal shortly after noon. The ship was quickly readied for embarking passengers who were supposed to board at 1:00 PM. Disney Cruise Line's Disney Magic to Return to New York in the Fall of 2017 Disney Cruise Line returns to New York City in the fall of 2017, for a mix of voyages that include Canada coast and Bahamas itineraries. On Oct. 21, the Disney Magic will sail from New York on a seven-night Canada sailing – the line’s longest-ever voyage to the Atlantic Canada coast. This sailing includes a new port of call for Disney Cruise Line – Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island. Artists Rendering of Crystal Cruises' New Ship Under Construction at Lloyd Werft 5/10/2016 - Today Crystal Cruises solidified it order with Lloyd Werft Group for its first ocean-going newbuild. This ordered signifies the first new ship for Crystal in more than a decade. The Lloyd Werft Press release identifies an order for 3 ships with the first being delivered in 2019. No delivery dates have been mentioned for the additional ships. As per the release, it appears that the ships will be larger than first expected. Original details stated that the ships would be about 100,000 tons, but it appears the ships will be 17% larger (expected to be 117,000 tons). Crystal Cruises which offers high-end luxury cruises, is expected to exceed passengers expectations with these new vessels which will have exceptional passenger / space ratios. Disney Cruise Line's Disney Magic - Maiden Arrival in NYC. On May 25th, Disney Cruise Line’s flagship vessel, the Disney Magic, arrived in New York Harbor donning the world’s largest bumper sticker.
