Will the Carnival Victory Ever Become the Carnival Radiance?

Rendering of Carnival Cruises' Carnival Radiance - Refit Suspended. It is unclear if work will ever resume on the transformation  of the Carnival Victory to the Carnival Radiance at Spain's Navantia Shipyard. The Carnival Victory sailed transatlantic to Cadiz Spain and promptly entered the dry-dock. Demolition began on the Transatlantic voyage and work was planned to begin immediately. A Greek Ferry was chartered by the shipyard to house all of the workers during the 2 month,  $200 million dollar transformation into the Carnival Radiance. Before the ferry could reach the shipyard in Spain, it was diverted back to Greece because the Coronavirus hit Spain very hard and the shipyard was forced to pause operations.  All work stopped. The skeletal crew remained on board the ship and were trapped onboard in Spain. Work was to be completed by April 24, 2020 and the transformed Carnival Radiance was to sail a short series of European Cruises followed by a Transatlantic...

Carnival Cruise Lines Planning a Limited Return to Service August 1st, 2020 Carnival Cruises says it is planning to resuming limited service beginning August 1. Due to  limited customer demand combined with operationalizing its new sterilization and shipboard cleansing policies - Carnival's August  start up will include 8 ships from the following ports:  Galveston: Carnival Dream, Carnival Freedom and Carnival Vista. Miami: Carnival Horizon, Carnival Magic and Carnival Sensation. Port Canaveral: Carnival Breeze and Carnival Elation. The balance of the  North American and Australian homeport cruises will be cancelled through August 31 and plans post 8/31 will be announced once determined. Carnival Cruise Line will operate its largest Bermuda season ever in 2019-2020, with more than 40 voyages visiting the nation, including eight week-long cruises departing from Baltimore and Charleston next year. In total, six different Carnival ships – Carnival Breeze, Magic, Pride, Radiance, Sunshine and Sunrise – will offer four- to nine-day Bermuda cruises from five homeports along the eastern seaboard between now and next year. Carnival Cruises Expands Cruises to Bermuda in 2020 - Adding Sailings From New York, Charleston, Fort Lauderdale, and Baltimore. For its 2019/2020 season, Carnival Cruise Line will offer more than 40 cruises to Bermuda -- a record number for the line -- with eight of the sailings departing from either Baltimore or Charleston. Six ships -- Carnival Breeze, Carnival Magic, Carnival Pride, Carnival Radiance, Carnival Sunshine and Carnival Sunrise -- will set sail between now and next year on four- to nine-night cruises to Bermuda from five eastern seaboard homeports: Baltimore, Charleston, New York, Fort Lauderdale and Port Canaveral (Orlando). Carnival Pride will sail seven weeklong cruises out of Baltimore that spend three nights each in Bermuda.
