Royal Caribbean's Oasis of the Seas New York New Jersey 2020 Debut Delayed. If the world was back in order, yesterday would have been the maiden voyage of the totally renovated Oasis of the Seas from Cape Liberty, Bayonne, New Jersey. Although the Oasis class ships have been around for a while (some 12 years), yesterday would have marked the first time an Oasis Class ship visited New York. The 1,186 foot long, 213 foot long ship would have sailed a 7 day cruise to Cape Canaveral, Fla; Nassau, Bahamas ; and Coco Cay, Bahamas . Coco Cay is Royal Caribbean's Private Island - Branded as the Perfect Day at Coco Cay . Instead the Oasis of the Seas sits some 100 Nautical Miles Southeast of Freeport in the Bahamas awaiting a decision on the future. Oasis of the Seas carried 6,296 passengers at full capacity and a crew of 2,165 crew, The Oasis was expected to sail a series of these Florida and Bahamas cruises until October of 2020 along with a single cruise to Canada....

Cape Liberty Bayonne Cruise Terminal Undergoes Modifications To Accommodate Royal Caribbean's Oasis of the Seas. Modifications are underway at the Cape Liberty Cruise Terminal in Bayonne New Jersey to accommodate the world's largest ship. The Anthem of the Seas measures 1,139 feet in length. The Oasis of the Seas measures 1,186 feet in length and the 1,021 foot long Adventure of the Seas Although only 47 feet longer than the Anthem of the Seas and 165 feet longer than the Adventure of the Seas, work is being conducted to lengthen the wharf, strengthen the extended pier and provide additional bollards to secure the ship when docked. Royal Caribbean's Anthem of the Seas Passengers Checked for Coronavirus UPDATE 2/8/2020 at 9:40 PM. Royal Caribbean's Anthem of the Seas is still sitting quayside in Cape Liberty Bayonne, NJ. She has been there since her arrival early Friday morning and select passengers were taken off and tested for the Coronavirus. The Anthem of the Seas is awaiting the final clearance from the CDC to sail. Reported not all of the test results have been returned. Royal Caribbean is now stating that the Anthem of the Seas will  depart Monday at 3 PM and has replaced the itinerary's call in Cape Canaveral, Coco Cay and Nassau with Kings Wharf Bermuda. The cruise has also been shortened to 5 days. Phoenix Reisen's Amadea was one of 4 German Ships in New York on Monday. New York and New Jersey was host to over 11,500 German Tourists and crews as 4 ships focused on the German market called at the port on 10/14/2019. Monday saw 4 German cruise ships (plus the Caribbean Princess) docked in NYC. AIDA had 2 ships in port - The AIDAdiva & AIDAluna bringing some 6,250 passengers and crew to the Manhattan Cruise Terminal. Also at the Manhattan Cruise Terminal was Phoenix Reisen's Amadea which is a mid-sized ship carrying only 624 passengers and 300 crew. Finally in Bayonne, at Cape Liberty Cruise Terminal played host to over 3,900 passengers and crew from TUI's Mien Schiff 1.  The 4 ships menitoned above cater primarily to German speaking passengers and German is the primary language spoken on board. Although Hurricane Melissa was well off shore, strong winds and rough high seas were encountered just outside of the New York Harbor this past Thursday. 10/10/2019. These adverse weather conditions caused ships to alter their itineraries. This past Thursday saw the Peaceboat - Ocean Dream, 2 Viking Ocean Cruises ships - the Viking Sea and Viking Sun and in Bayonne was Royal Caribbean's Anthem of the Seas. Royal Caribbean's Anthem of the Seas stayed quay side THursday evening until about 9:45 PM. At this time, the ship sailed toward the Statue of Liberty and went up the Hudson River to the Freedom Tower where she turned around and headed back down river. The Celebrity Summit was turned around in record time today - dropping her ropes from the pier in Cape Liberty Cruise Terminal in Bayonne, NJ at about 4:50 PM. This departure was some 7 hours after arriving. In those 7 hours, 3,000+ people disembarked, their luggage was unloaded, food and supplies were on-boarded, all cabins were stripped, linens washed, beds made fresh, 3,000+ new Passengers embarked, their luggage was put onboard, fuel loaded and exterior maintenance was performed on the ship. Royal Caribbean's Anthem of the Seas - Arrives Early At Cape Liberty, Bayonne. The east coast of the US was subject to heavy rains and strong winds this past Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The adverse weather had cruise ships speeding toward New York in in order to avoid the storms. Friday at 8:30 PM, Royal Caribbean's Anthem of the Seas arrived in New York a full 12 hours ahead of schedule. Passengers stayed aboard the vessel  along side at the Cape Liberty Cruise Terminal. Azamara Cruises' Azamara Journey docked at the Manhattan Cruise Terminal around 1:30 PM in the afternoon on Saturday. The Azamara Journey was sailing from Bermuda to New York and arrived  a full 20 hours ahead of schedule. Cunard Line's Queen Mary 2 was one of 3 ships departing from New York and New Jersey Today Sunday was a busy day for the 3 New York Harbor Cruise Terminals each playing host to a different ship. Nobel Caledonia's Hebridean Sky Made a Recent call in New York to Load/Unload Passengers on Coastal / New England / Canada Cruise. Noble Caledonia's exclusive Hebridean Sky made calls in both Cape Liberty, Bayonne New Jersey and Manhattan.The 4,200 ton, Hebridean Sky called at the port after making a coastal cruise visiting Portsmouth, Baltimore and Philadelphia. It appears that the Adventure of the Sea will be returning next year sailing on alternating 8 Day and 6 Day Cruises. Adventure of the Seas will alternate sailings during the summer months: The 8 Day cruises offer an interesting itinerary visiting Kings Wharf, Bermuda; Nassau, Bahamas; and Coco Cay Private Island, Bahamas.
