Norwegian Cruise Lines' Norwegian Bliss Arrives in New York

Norwegian Cruise Line's New Norwegian Bliss, the newest ship of the Breakaway Plus class, arrived and left New York with little to no fanfare.

The Norwegian Bliss docked at the Manhattan Cruise Terminal on Thursday 5-3-2018 at 2:00 AM forgoing a fire boat welcome, sailing by sleeping New York City residents and the advantage of media coverage.

The ship was docked at Pier 88, next to the Intrepid Air-space Museum for 4 days where many strolling residents could photograph her next to the pier. The ship played host to a select number of travel professional and media during the 4 day stay. Early Sunday morning on 5/7/2018, her near sister, the Norwegian Escape arrived from Bermuda - having the 2 mammoth ships docked side-by-side

At 11:00 AM, the Norwegian Bliss dropped her lines and began backing out from Pier 88 Berth A into the Hudson River. Turning her bow down river, she gracefully left the port. She is expected to debut in Florida on 5/8/2018 and then sail through the Panama Canal to the West Coast and Alaska.

The Norwegian Bliss will return to New York in November of 2019 for winter cruising from New York.
