Ships Arrive in New York Early Due to Adverse Weather.

Royal Caribbean's Anthem of the Seas - Arrives Early At Cape Liberty, Bayonne. The east coast of the US was subject to heavy rains and strong winds this past Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The adverse weather had cruise ships speeding toward New York in in order to avoid the storms. Friday at 8:30 PM, Royal Caribbean's Anthem of the Seas arrived in New York a full 12 hours ahead of schedule. Passengers stayed aboard the vessel  along side at the Cape Liberty Cruise Terminal. Azamara Cruises' Azamara Journey docked at the Manhattan Cruise Terminal around 1:30 PM in the afternoon on Saturday. The Azamara Journey was sailing from Bermuda to New York and arrived  a full 20 hours ahead of schedule. The Azamara Journey will spend overnight along side and her passengers will have the opportunity to explore New York City and use the ship as their floating hotel. North Atlantic Storm Delays Ship Arrivals.

In what is a rare event, both the arrival of Cunard's  Queen Mary 2 and P&O Cruises' Aurora were both delayed due to a North Atlantic. Both ships departed Southampton on 9/16/2018 en-route to the Big Apple. The Aurora was the first of the pair to pull into the Manhattan Cruise Terminal at around 11 AM. At about the same time, the Queen Mary 2 was just passing under the Veranzarro Narrow Bridge. The Queen Mary 2 pulled along side at the Brooklyn Cruise Terminal at 11:45 AM - approximately 6 hours behind schedule. New York was a port of call for the Aurora so visiting cruise passengers had about 3 hours less time to spend ashore. The Queen Mary 2 arrival was quite a different story, her disembarking passengers were possibly late for their flights home or missing shore-side commitments, The majority of cruise passenger for the next cruise were arriving at the pier in anticipation of a 1 PM boarding.
