Cunard Line Extends Pause in Operations Until November 2020.

Cunard Announces Extended Pause In Operations Until November 2020. Impacts sailings for Queen Mary 2, Queen Elizabeth and Queen Victoria. Luxury cruise line Cunard, announced that, as a result of the continued impact of Covid-19, it will be extending the pause in operations. For its ships Queen Mary 2 and Queen Victoria, Cunard is cancelling all sailings that were due to depart up to and including 1 November, 2020 and for Queen Elizabeth, departures up to and including the 23 November, 2020. Impacted will be the majority of the Queen Mary 2's transatlantic season, European cruises and New England / Canada sailings. The majority of these would have been sailing from New York. Atlantic Container Lines (ACL) Suspends Passenger Operations For The Remainder Of The Year.

Atlantic Container Line's G4 Container Ship Suspend Passenger Operations Due to COVID Restrictions On Friday May 22, 2020, Atlantic Container Line's (ACL) parent company Grimaldi Lines announced that “it has been decided to suspend passenger service on ACL, G4 Container vessels until the end of 2020.” After several weeks of valiantly trying to maintain its weekly passenger service between Hamburg, Antwerp, Liverpool, Halifax, New York and Baltimore, complications caused by Covid-19 have finally made it impossible to continue to offer passenger service. The Grimaldi Group stated  that many affected passengers have already re-booked for 2021. Those recently impacted by the announcement are now being contacted to move their reservation . The five ACL ships carry 12 passengers each and offer an annual capacity of 600 passengers in each direction. In progress cruises will conclude over a period from now to March 21. Virgin Voyages Announced New York City Introduction For Their New Scarlet Lady Has Been Cancelled Virgin Voyages has announced that the New York preview of their new ship - the Scarlet Lady - has been cancelled. The visit, originally scheduled for 3/6/2020 and staying the in Big Apple for about one week will not happen. Virgin stated in a prepared statement: “In light of the current news headlines, we want to ensure everyone feels it is the right time to celebrate with us. We understand people may want to focus on other things at the moment, so we have made the decision to reschedule our upcoming Showcase Tour stop and events in New York City. We plan to sail back to New York soon for you to visit her." Virgin Voyages re-iterated that no one currently on the ship has any signs of  the Coronavirus but the cancellation is being done as a precaution. Regent Seven Seas Takes Delivery of the Luxurious Seven Seas Splendor at Italy's Fincantieri Shipyard

Luxury Cruise Ship - Seven Seas Splendor Delivered By Italy's Fincantieri Shipyard to Regent Seven Seas The Seven Seas Splendor was delivered to Regent Seven Seas on January 30th  at the Fincantieri Ancona shipyard. The Seven Seas Splendor is the second ship in the Explorer Class. The first ship, the Seven Seas Explorer was delivered by Fincantieri in 2016. The Seven Seas Splendor is 55,000 gross tons, 224 meters long and is able to accommodate 750 passengers onboard in 375 spacious suites all including private balconies.   The Seven Seas Splendor will sail from Barcelona to Miami on February 6th and then tranist the Panama Canal to San Diego before returning to Miami. The Seven Seas Explorer will  depart Miami on April 1, 2020 enroute to Europe. She will celebrate a maiden arrival in New York on April 16 and then proceed to the Mediterranean where she will sail the Summer Season. The Queen Mary 2 pulled away from the Brooklyn Cruise Terminal just after 6 PM heading down river to her first port of call - Southampton, England . The 113 day cruise is an incredible circuit from New York visiting the Mediterranean, the Arabian Peninsula, Asia's many gems and then on to Australia. Reaching it furthest point - the return voyages stops in ports in the Indian Ocean and then stunning Africa. The cruise is available in shorter segments for passengers whose interest may lie in select ports. To the disappointment of  New York cruise enthusiasts, the much anticipated New York arrival of Carnival's newest and largest cruise ship - the Mardi Gras has been cancelled. Carnival Cruise Line has been informed by officials at the Meyer Turku shipyard that delivery of Mardi Gras will be delayed and is advising booked guests and travel advisors that the first revenue sailing of the ship will be Nov. 14, 2020.  “We have been working closely with Meyer Turku executives to keep the Mardi Gras delivery on schedule, and while we deeply regret disappointing our guests, this change in the delivery date is required to make sure all of the ship’s systems, features and technology will be fully operational, so that we can give our guests the vacation they expect.
