Sluggish Chinese Market May See Cruise Ships Relocated to New York, US and European Ports.

Image
Norwegian Joy Removed From Chinese Market to US West Coast, Mexico and Alaska. Just this week, Norwegian Cruise Line announced that the Norwegian Joy - a ship built specifically for the Chinese Market, will be relocated to the United States West Coast, Mexico and Alaska in 2019. A sluggish Chinese cruise market has many operators considering moving ships from the region.  Earlier this year, another Chinese operator - SkySea Cruises will cease operations and their ship will be moved to TUI Cruises' German Mein Schiff Brand. It is expected that other operators will rationalize their Chinese operations and ships will be moved to markets where the demand is higher.
