Oasis of the Seas Expected to Sail From Cape Liberty Bayonne, New Jersey in 2021

Royal Caribbean's Oasis of the Seas - To Sail From New York in 2021. Royal Caribbean's Oasis of the Seas is expected to sail from Cape Liberty Bayonne, New Jersey in 2021. It is unclear at this time, if a portion of her 2020 cruise season from Bayonne will occur, but 2021 is looking promising. The Oasis of the Seas' New York arrival will represent the first time one of the Oasis class ship have pulled into the port. To date all Oasis class ship have avoided  the Port of New York as it was suspected the Oasis class ships may be too tall to slip beneath the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge. The Bridge's clearance is listed as 228 Feet. The  Oasis of the Seas measures 225,282 tons, is 1,187 feet long, 208 feet wide and requires an air clearance of 208 feet.. The largest passenger ship to call in the port to date is MSC Cruises' MSC Meravilgia weighing in at 171,598 GT, 1,036 feet long and 141 feet wide. Charlottetown Prince Edward Island Offers Natural Beauty and Shopping Popular with Cruise Passengers As cruise lines continue to build more, bigger ships, the cruise lines are continually looking for various ports to utilize on cruises. As pert of this expansion, Canada is growing in popularity. Charlottetown, located on Prince Edward Island has seen a jump in passenger arrivals from 2018 to 2019 and is set for another jump in 2020. The Prince Edward Island port welcomed 120,000 cruise passengers in 2019 and expects a 40% increase in 2020 (approx 168,000 visitors). Charlottetown has about 36,100 full time residents. Since the port is growing in popularity in the Spring, Summer and Fall, the impact to the local residents is spread out over an extended season. MSC Cruises' MSC Meravilgia - Closes out MSC 2019 Cruise season from New York - Departing on a Southern Caribbean Cruise MSC Cruise MSC Meravilgia closed out MSC Cruises 2019 season from New York to New England- Canada. At 7:04 PM, the largest cruise ship to call at Manhattan to date, the MSC Meravilgia silently pulled away from the pier 88 at the Manhattan Cruise Terminal on her way to the Southern Caribbean and her new Winter Homeport - Miami. After completing her New England & Canada Program, the MSC Meravilgia departed on a  14 Day  repositioning cruise from New York (on October 28th) to the Southern Caribbean which includes a stop at MSC Private Reserve - Ocean Cay in the Bahamas. The cruise will end in Miami on November 10, 2019. MSC Cruises MSC Meraviglia Maiden Arrival in New York on Tuesday 10/8/2019  - will sail a series of New England & Canada Cruises before heading to Florida for Winter Sailings to the Caribbean. MSC Cruises is marking their return to New York with the maiden arrival of the MSC Meraviglia on Monday 10/7/2019. The 167,600 ton ship, which was delivered in 2017,  is 1,034 feet long and carries 4,500 passengers. After an overnight in port, the ship is expected to sail the afternoon of 10/8/2019 on a 10 day cruise to New England & Canada visiting Sydney Canada, Corner Brook Canada; Charlottetown, Canada; Quebec Canada,  returning back to New York. MSC Cruises Meraviglia to Sail New England Canada Cruises From New York After a multi-year hiatus MSC Cruises is returning to New England / Canada Cruising, offering 2 10-day sailings. MSC Cruises is placing their 2017 built MSC Meraviglia in the Northeast. The MSC Meraviglia is a very large ship weighing 171,598 tons, 1,033 feet long and 141 feet long. Capable of a cruising speed of 22 knots  the 5,714 passenger ship will be the largest cruise ship to call at New York (until 2020 when the Oasis of the Seas begins sailing from New York).   RETURN TO NYCRUISEINFO.COM .
