Select Cruise Lines Try To Reenter Service With New Restrictions and Preventative procedures.

  German and Italian Cruise Brands start limited service - sailing short cruises restricted to domestic ports and Italian and German Nationals Select cruise lines has decided to start cruising operations outside of United States waters Norwegian cruise line - Sea Goddess has started cruises for Norwegian citizens on their private yachts - only calling at ports within Norway. Carnival Owned German cruise line Aida Kreuzfarten  is planning to start operations from German ports calling at select German cities. Royal Caribbean's jointly owned German cruise operation Mein Schiff began cruising last month - sailing short cruises to to nowhere for German nationals only. As part of the cruise, the ship sailed to the shipyard where is was built allowing passengers a view of the shipyard. Later this month Carnival Cruises' Italian brand Costa Cruises - will start sailing from Italy with 2 ships. The ships will be restricted to carry only Italian citizens and call only at Italian ports....

Charlottetown Prince Edward Island Offers Natural Beauty and Shopping Popular with Cruise Passengers As cruise lines continue to build more, bigger ships, the cruise lines are continually looking for various ports to utilize on cruises. As pert of this expansion, Canada is growing in popularity. Charlottetown, located on Prince Edward Island has seen a jump in passenger arrivals from 2018 to 2019 and is set for another jump in 2020. The Prince Edward Island port welcomed 120,000 cruise passengers in 2019 and expects a 40% increase in 2020 (approx 168,000 visitors). Charlottetown has about 36,100 full time residents. Since the port is growing in popularity in the Spring, Summer and Fall, the impact to the local residents is spread out over an extended season. MSC Cruises Meraviglia to Sail New England Canada Cruises From New York After a multi-year hiatus MSC Cruises is returning to New England / Canada Cruising, offering 2 10-day sailings. MSC Cruises is placing their 2017 built MSC Meraviglia in the Northeast. The MSC Meraviglia is a very large ship weighing 171,598 tons, 1,033 feet long and 141 feet long. Rumors Circulating: MSC Cruises to New York in 2017

Rumors are circulating that MSC Cruises will begin Spring, Summer and Fall cruises from New York starting in 2017.   If true, this would mark the return of the cruise line to the Big Apple after a few year void. It is unclear which itinerary or ship would be utilized on the cruises from New York but one can suspect a Bahamas, Florida and/or New England / Canada itinerary combination will be featured. Also the introduction of MSC’s new private island next year would also fit nicely into the Florida and Bahamas itinerary offering a day of relaxation at their own island. We will have to await details and see if the rumors are true.
