 Yesterday was a busy day in the Port of New York with each one of the 3 New York cruise terminals having a large cruise ship tied-up. At the Manhattan Cruise Terminal, Norwegian Cruise Line’s Norwegian Breakaway loaded happy passengers for a 7 day cruise to Bermuda. In Brooklyn, Cunard Lines’ newly refurbished Queen Mary 2 prepared for her transatlantic sailing to Southampton, England (via Halifax Nova Scotia), and finally Celebrity Cruises’ Celebrity Summit embarked Bermuda bound passengers in Cape Liberty, Bayonne, New Jersey.

It should be noted that New York, like the rest of the country, is experience extremely warm temperatures and today it was a balmy 94 degrees.

Cunard Line's Queen Mary 2 Itinerary Modified to Drop Hong Kong Calls. Singapore Stops Added.

Cunard Line' Queen Mary 2 will sail an altered itinerary in Asia. Cunard Line Queen Mary 2 left New York on January 13, 2020 as part of a 113 day World Cruise. The current segment of this cruise is approaching a planned extended stay in Hong Kong. In late January, Cunard Line announced that the call by QM2 to Hong Kong on February 18/19 will be replaced replaced with a stay in Singapore. A statement from the line read: "We are currently looking at the impact of travel restrictions due to Corona virus and our imminent ports of call in China and Hong Kong for Queen Mary 2 and Queen Elizabeth world voyages. "We have made the decision to cancel Queen Mary 2 call to Hong Kong on February 18/19 and replace it with Singapore on the same dates. Phoenix Reisen's Amera (previously Holland America's Prinsendam to visit New York in 2021 Phoenix Reisen's latest acquisition - Amera is scheduled to call 2 times in New York in 2021. The Amera - which previous sailed as Holland America's Prinsendam - will call at New York on April 8 & 9  2020 as part of the Amera's 125 day World Cruise  which departs Monaco on December 2020. September 29 & 30, 2020 as part of a England, Ireland, Canada and New England cruise.  The Amera will call in New York again in 2022 as part of the 143 day world cruise.
