The Renovations happened in October and November which transformed the ship internally and externally. The $165 Million dollar refit incorporated all of the latest features found in subsequent ships of the Oasis Class. The Oasis of the Seas is currently sailing from Miami, but will begin sailing from Cape Liberty, Bayonne, replacing the Anthem of the Seas, on the Florida, Bahamas and Private Island Cruise. The Anthem of the Seas will spend the spring, summer and fall of 2020 in Europe. On May 10, 2020 Royal Caribbean's Oasis of the Seas will depart New York for the first time marking a number of major milestones including: The first Oasis class ship to call at New York and the largest cruise ship ever to call at the port. The Oasis of the Seas is the first Oasis Class ship built for Royal Caribbean and has just competed (November 2019) a $165 million dollar refit which Royal Caribbean refers to as Amplification. The Oasis will sail a series of cruises departing from Cape Liberty, Bayonne, New Jersey calling at Port Canaveral, Florida; Nassau, Bahamas and CocoCay, Bahamas where passengers can enjoy the perfect day at Coco Cay (Royal Caribbean's Private Island destination).
