Select Cruise Lines Try To Reenter Service With New Restrictions and Preventative procedures.

  German and Italian Cruise Brands start limited service - sailing short cruises restricted to domestic ports and Italian and German Nationals Select cruise lines has decided to start cruising operations outside of United States waters Norwegian cruise line - Sea Goddess has started cruises for Norwegian citizens on their private yachts - only calling at ports within Norway. Carnival Owned German cruise line Aida Kreuzfarten  is planning to start operations from German ports calling at select German cities. Royal Caribbean's jointly owned German cruise operation Mein Schiff began cruising last month - sailing short cruises to to nowhere for German nationals only. As part of the cruise, the ship sailed to the shipyard where is was built allowing passengers a view of the shipyard. Later this month Carnival Cruises' Italian brand Costa Cruises - will start sailing from Italy with 2 ships. The ships will be restricted to carry only Italian citizens and call only at Italian ports....

German Operator Mein Shiff - Newest Ship Makes Maiden Call in NYC.

TUI / Mein Schiff's Mein Schiff 1 - Sailing a Series of Cruises From New York to New England / Canada and Florida/Bahamas Today Mein Schiff / TUI Cruises' newest ship - the Mein Schiff 1 arrived in New York as part of her transatlantic voyage. The ship will overnight in Cape Liberty, Bayonne, NJ. providing her passenger a night onboard and access to New York City. Passengers will disembark the next day, while a new group of passenger fly-in from Germany to board the ship for the next cruise. The new passengers are then treated to a day in New York City, before departing on 9/20 (Friday). The Mein Schiff 1 will sail on a series of  New England / Canada Cruises and Cruises to Florida and the Bahamas before heading to the Caribbean. German Cruise Lines Find New York a Popular Fall Cruise Port.

AIDA Cruises AIDAvita - One of a number of German cruise lines offering extended stays in New York on their New England, Canada Cruises. As stated in previous blog posts, as the fall approaches, many cruise lines re-locate their ships to New York to Sail on New England Canada Cruises.  These fall sailing are very popular among the German Cruise lines like AIDA and Mein Schiff (TUI Cruises) which use New York / New Jersey as a turn around port. Their cruises use New York as a embarkation and disembarkation port allowing passenger time to visit and explore the Big Apple. Usually the cruise lines add an overnight stay for their passengers in New York and the passengers can use the ship as their hotel. So for instance on a 14 day cruise, the ship arrive in New York on Day 13 allowing guests to stay onboard overnight and explore NYC.
