Select Cruise Lines Try To Reenter Service With New Restrictions and Preventative procedures.

  German and Italian Cruise Brands start limited service - sailing short cruises restricted to domestic ports and Italian and German Nationals Select cruise lines has decided to start cruising operations outside of United States waters Norwegian cruise line - Sea Goddess has started cruises for Norwegian citizens on their private yachts - only calling at ports within Norway. Carnival Owned German cruise line Aida Kreuzfarten  is planning to start operations from German ports calling at select German cities. Royal Caribbean's jointly owned German cruise operation Mein Schiff began cruising last month - sailing short cruises to to nowhere for German nationals only. As part of the cruise, the ship sailed to the shipyard where is was built allowing passengers a view of the shipyard. Later this month Carnival Cruises' Italian brand Costa Cruises - will start sailing from Italy with 2 ships. The ships will be restricted to carry only Italian citizens and call only at Italian ports....

Hurtigruten's Roald Amundsen will visit New York as part of her re-positiong cruise from Atlantic Canada to the Antarctica. The Roald Amundsen will sail from New York, visiting US Coastal ports, the Caribbean and Central America - as she makes her way through the Panama Canal to spend southern hemisphere summer season in Antarctica. The world's first hybrid electric-powered expedition ship and newest member of the Hurtigruten fleet, MS Roald Amundsen, was officially named in Antarctica on November 7, 2019. The MS Fram departed New York on Monday 4/22/19 and embarked on a 11 Day New England Canada cruise. The MS Fram is expected to call at the port of Yarmouth, NS Canada, Halifax, NS Canada, Louisbourg NS, Canada, St Lawrence Seaway cruising, Bonaventure Island, Quebec, Canada, Baie-Comeau, Quebec, Canada, Saguenay, Quebec, Canada and Quebec City, Quebec Canada where the cruise ends. The MS Fram is certified to operate in the Arctic and Antarctic and in the thickest ice. Hurtigruten's Exploration Ship Fram - Has a number of Sailing From New York in 2018 and 2019 Hurtigruten's Exploration Vessel Fram arrived in New York this past Saturday (4/14) to embark passengers on a Spring, Exploration, New England Canada Cruise. The 12,000 ton, 374 foot long, Ice Certified vessel, carries 317 passengers usually traveling in Antarctic and Arctic Polar Regions.  On April 22 the Fram will sail on a 9 Day cruise from Halifax to New York Hurtigruten's Fram New England Canada Cruise From Halifax to New York. Returning to New York on April 30th the Fram will sail on a New England Canada cruise before sailing around Iceland and traveling to Sweden and Norway for the the Winter season.
