Beautiful Beaches of the Bahamas Closed to United States Citizens to Contain Coronavirus The Bahamas has temporarily banned all United States Citizens from vacationing at the island nation. The ban, depending on how long it is enforced, could impact cruises from New York and New Jersey. These cruises frequently called at Nassau, Freeport and private islands in the Bahamas  on 7 day winter cruises. Here is the details of the current ban. "Our current situation demands decisive action if we are to avoid being overrun and being defeated by this virus," Minnis said in his address, noting that the Bahamas has confirmed 15 new cases for a total of 153 cases. 49 of the cases had been identified since the Bahamas reopened its borders on July 1.  Sea vessels carrying commercial passengers will also not be permitted to enter. Royal Caribbean's Anthem of the Seas sailing between Med ports to bring crew members home. Royal Caribbean's Anthem of the Seas is sailing between Mediterranean ports to bring  crew members home. The ship called at Gibraltar on May 24th and is now heading toward Piraeus where she is expected to arrive on May 28th 2020. The Anthem of the Seas loaded crew members in Coco Cay, Bahamas from various ships and Royal Caribbean brands. It is unclear what the next port of call will be after Piraeus. The Anthem of the Seas was scheduled to sail Northern European cruises departing from Southampton, England.  It is unclear whether she will proceed to England for wait for orders elsewhere. Royal Caribbean to Restructure Their Adventure Oceans Children's Program Fleet Wide. When Royal Caribbean re-introduced the Oasis of the Seas after her amplification, enhancements were made to the ship's Adventure Ocean's  youth programs. The most obvious change was the combing of the 6-12 year olds in a single group. In addition, each age group will be renamed and have new activities, events and games/electronics  incorporated into the enhanced program. Royal Caribbean is not providing many details at this point and is expected to roll out more information by the Spring. Royal Caribbean's Oasis of the Seas will begin sailing from Cape Liberty Bayonne, New Jersey in the Spring of 2020 and sail to Florida, and the Bahamas including the Perfect Day at Coco Cay. Royal Caribbean's Oasis of the Seas to Sail a Canada, Florida, Bahamas Royal Caribbean's extensively refit - Oasis of the Seas will sail from New York on one Canada cruise. The cruise will depart Cape Liberty, Bayonne, NJ on June 21, 2020 sailing to St. John, New Brunswick, Canada and Halifax, Nova Scotia . The Renovations happened in October and November which transformed the ship internally and externally. The $165 Million dollar refit incorporated all of the latest features found in subsequent ships of the Oasis Class. Royal Caribbean Cruise Line's Anthem of the Seas will again be joined by her sister ship Adventure of the Seas in 2019 This afternoon I went out to the Royal Caribbean Website to see which ships they will be operating from Cape Liberty in the Summer of 2019. It appears that the Adventure of the Sea will be returning next year sailing on alternating 8 Day and 6 Day Cruises. Adventure of the Seas will alternate sailings during the summer months: The 8 Day cruises offer an interesting itinerary visiting Kings Wharf, Bermuda; Nassau, Bahamas; and Coco Cay Private Island, Bahamas. Royal Caribbean Cruise Line is reportedly in discussions with the Bahamas Authority to build a pier at their private island - Coco Cay. Royal Caribbean in Discussions to Add Pier to Coco Cay Bahamas Private Island  The new pier would allow ships to dock directly at the island and passengers would no longer be required to tender into the port. Calls to the island are occasionally cancelled due to rough seas and a pier would greatly reduce the number of cancellations, since passengers. The new pier is expected to be large enough to handle Royal Caribbean's largest ship including the Oasis class ships which carry over 7,500+ passengers and crew.  Coco Cay is a port visited on Florida Bahamas cruises departing from New York/Cape Liberty as well as many Royal Caribbean itineraries from Florida and Baltimore.
