  German and Italian Cruise Brands start limited service - sailing short cruises restricted to domestic ports and Italian and German Nationals Select cruise lines has decided to start cruising operations outside of United States waters Norwegian cruise line - Sea Goddess has started cruises for Norwegian citizens on their private yachts - only calling at ports within Norway. Carnival Owned German cruise line Aida Kreuzfarten  is planning to start operations from German ports calling at select German cities. Royal Caribbean's jointly owned German cruise operation Mein Schiff began cruising last month - sailing short cruises to to nowhere for German nationals only. As part of the cruise, the ship sailed to the shipyard where is was built allowing passengers a view of the shipyard. Later this month Carnival Cruises' Italian brand Costa Cruises - will start sailing from Italy with 2 ships. The ships will be restricted to carry only Italian citizens and call only at Italian ports....

Carnival Corporation Brands to Dispose of 13 Ships and Delay of New Ships.

Carnival Corporation Announces Upcoming Fleet Reductions and Delay of New Ships. Carnival Cruises announced that the company expects future capacity to be moderated by the phased re-entry of its ships, the removal of capacity from its fleet and delays in new ship deliveries.  As previously announced, the company intends to accelerate the removal of ships in fiscal 2020 which were previously expected to be sold over the upcoming years. The company sold one ship during June 2020 and has agreements for the disposal of five ships and preliminary agreements for an additional three ships, all of which are expected to leave the fleet in the next 90 days.  These agreements are in addition to the sale of four ships, which were announced prior to fiscal 2020. AIDA Cruises to Resume Cruising in August From German Ports.

AIDA Cruises to Resume cruises from German ports post coronavirus starting August 2020 AIDA previously announced it will resume guest cruise operations from ports in Germany beginning August 2020 with three of its ships, making it the first of the company's nine cruise brands to resume guest cruise operations. AIDA will introduce additional safety and protective measures which will include pre-boarding health questionnaires and temperature checks for both guests and crew, physical distancing guidelines, routing systems on arrival, departure and onboard, increased mitigation and sanitation efforts in all cabins and public areas, as well as closely managing capacities at onboard experiences. These enhanced measures have been developed with advice from medical experts and align with the current guidance from the World Health Organization ("WHO") and the German Robert Koch Institute ("RKI"), as well as other governmental and health authorities....

Carnival Provides Limited Retunr to Service Details and in Discussions to Sell 6 Ships.

Six ships expected to exit in next 90 days The company is accelerating the removal of ships in fiscal 2020 that were previously planned to be sold in future years. Carnival said it has preliminary agreements for the disposal of six ships that are expected to exit in the next 90 days, and the company is working on additional sales. The exact ships have not been named but it is expected that their older ships will be the first to go. The ships could span multiple Carnival Brands including AIDA, Holland America, Chartered ships to other carriers, Seabourn, Costa, Cunard, Princess, P&O, P&O Australia and others. Aida Cruises AIDAluna was expected to sail from New York to New England / Canada or the Coastal US and Bahamas - until AIDA cruises decided to cancel all 2020 US based cruises. Aida Cruises, a German based cruise line owned by Carnival Corporation , has made the decision to suspend all cruises to the United States and Canada in 2020 due to travel bans and restrictions in both countries. The cruise line has traditionally sailed from New York to both New England / Canada and East Coast ports like Norfolk, Charleston SC, Port Canaveral and the Bahamas on two ships. Most of their cruises feature overnight stay in New York to offer their German Clientele time to explore New York City. The AIDA ships have limited dining room eateries and were focused more on buffets and cooking stations. The attraction of fall foliage and New England / Canada cruises has ships from all over the globe congregating in New York. Many European Cruise Lines like AIDA and P&O focus on specific demographics. P&O on the British market and cruise passengers, while AIDA focuses on German cruise passengers.
