Cunard Line' Queen Mary 2 will sail an altered itinerary in Asia. Cunard Line Queen Mary 2 left New York on January 13, 2020 as part of a 113 day World Cruise. The current segment of this cruise is approaching a planned extended stay in Hong Kong. In late January, Cunard Line announced that the call by QM2 to Hong Kong on February 18/19 will be replaced replaced with a stay in Singapore. A statement from the line read: "We are currently looking at the impact of travel restrictions due to Corona virus and our imminent ports of call in China and Hong Kong for Queen Mary 2 and Queen Elizabeth world voyages. "We have made the decision to cancel Queen Mary 2 call to Hong Kong on February 18/19 and replace it with Singapore on the same dates. Norwegian Cruise Line Norwegian Gem Denied Entry Into New York.

Norwegian Cruise Lines' Norwegian Gem During Favorable Weather Conditions 2/25/2019 - Today Norwegian Cruise Lines' Norwegian Gem was denied entry into the port of New York and New Jersey today due to extremely high winds. Although the day was bright and sunny the wind gusts were up to 60 miles per hour. The Norwegian Gem sailed under the Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge ( Verrazano - Narrows Bridge) but was denied further entry into the port by the harbor master. The excessive winds, combined with the challenging currents made maneuvering the 93,530 ton ship up the Hudson River and making the right hand turn into the pier practically impossible. The Norwegian Gem then turned around off the shore of Staten Island and sailed out of the harbor extending passengers vacation another day. Unfortunately the Norwegian Gem encountered rough seas since the excessive winds were also occurring at sea. Weather permitting the Norwegian Gem is now expected to arrive in Manhattan around

Carnival Triumph Has Departed Shipyard in Cadiz Spain.

Transformation of the Carnival Triumph, now Carnival Sunrise, has completed in Cadiz Spain. The transformed Carnival Triumph has left the shipyard in Cadiz Spain late Friday (4/19/19). Work is continuing on the ship as she sails to Norfolk Virginia for a short series of cruises before coming to New York.  The Carnival Sunrise will sail a series of Bermuda, Florida, Bahamas, Eastern Caribbean and New England, Canada cruises from the Big Apple, before spending the winter sailing from Florida..
