Disney Cruise Line's Disney Magic - Maiden Arrival in NYC. On May 25th, Disney Cruise Line’s flagship vessel, the Disney Magic, arrived in New York Harbor donning the world’s largest bumper sticker. Usually found on the back of family minivans, the 50-foot-long by 11-foot-wide super-sized sticker is larger than a city bus. The ship  departed later that afternoon, marking the beginning of Disney’s first-ever consumer sailings out of Manhattan – allowing local residents to experience a Disney vacation in their own backyard. Disney Cruise Line's Disney Magic Disney Cruise Line's Disney Magic is making  her way up the New Jersey coast in route to New York. The Disney Magic is expected to arrive in New York Harbor early tomorrow morning. The Disney Magic will spend the Summer and Fall sailing from New York on 8-Day Cruises to Florida and Bahamas; 2-Day Cruises to Nowhere and 4 Day Cruises to Canada. Yorktown at Chelsea Pier in New York At about 10:00 PM on 5/23/2012 - the Yorktown sailed from Chelsea Piers in Manhattan enroute to Gloucester, Massachusetts for the start of her Maiden Voyage. The Yorktown sailed down the Hudson River, around the tip of Manhattan; Though Long Island Sound; through the Cape Cod Canal and up the Massachusetts Coast. The Yorktown is expected to arrive in Gloucester around 11 PM this evening (5/24/2012). Travel Dynamic's Yorktown at Chelsea Piers. Travel Dynamics new ship Yorktown made a surprise visit to New York this past weekend. Arriving Saturday (5/19/2012) and docking at Chelsea Piers in Manhattan, the ship was revealed to travel agents and the media. The Yorktown's first published sailing is from Gloucester Mass (on 5/24/20120 to Montreal Canada in 13 days. The Yorktown will sail through the Great Lakes for the majority of the summer, then fall-foliage cruises, Hudson River Cruises, Southeast US Coast, Mississippi River and Mayan Cruises. Built in Florida in 1988 specifically for coastal cruising and certified by the U.S. Coast Guard, the Yorktown flies the American flag and is staffed by friendly and experienced American officers and crew. 257 feet long, 43 feet wide, with a draft of 8 feet, the Yorktown is able to maneuver in secluded waterways and visit small ports that are inaccessible to larger vessels. Royal Caribbean's Explorer of the Seas - Cape Liberty Bayonne In an odd turn of events - Royal Caribbean's Explorer of the Seas pulled into Cape Liberty, Bayonne, New Jersey bow first on May 19, 2012. The Explorer of the Seas normally turns around mid-river upon arrival and backs down the channel. Under this circumstances, the Explorer of the Seas sailed early at 3:50 PM and backed out of the cruise terminal to mid-river and turned around in the blazing NY/NJ sun - providing a great photo opportunity. Royal Caribbean's Explorer of the Seas sails on 5 and 7 day cruises to Bermuda as well as 9-Day Caribbean /Bahamas Cruises. Luxury Yacht Luna Pays a Visit to the Brooklyn Cruise Terminal The luxury Yacht Luna spent the last week at the Brooklyn Cruise Terminal. The Luna belongs to billionaire Roman Abramovich who has a significant list of large luxury yachts. Launched in October 2009, the Luna was delivered to her owners on April 10, 2011 by Lloyd Werft and Stahlbau Nord Shipyards.  The 377 foot long ship incorporates an extremely luxurious and innovative design. Newcruise Design were responsible for M/Y Luna’s exterior styling, featuring two helicopter pads facing forward and to the rear around the large communications tower. She also holds transom doors at the sides, which lead directly to that yacht's tenders. The large, open aft deck holds a covered swimming pool and sunbathing areas, with a dedicated open luxury leisure area featuring a beach club leading down to the swim platform.
