Norwegian Cruise Line's Norwegian Escape Heads to Singapore.

Image
Norwegian Cruise Line's Norwegian Escape Heading From Manila to Singapore. Norwegian Cruise Line's Norwegian Escape repatriated crew home to the Philippines. The ship has been in Manila harbor for months but is now on the move to Singapore - it is unclear whether she has a full crew as she heads west.  The Norwegian Escape is expected to arrive in Singapore on August 21. Singapore has substantial facilities for ship repair and renovation so it is unclear if the call is to refuel, enter drydock or just to remain local for Asia cruises. The Norwegian Escape was a fixture in the New York to Bermuda Cruise circuit in 2019, calling weekly during the spring / summer / fall, to the island nation. In addition, the Norwegian Escape conducted cruises to New England and Canada as well as Florida and the Bahamas. Stay tuned to NYCruiseInfo to find out what's next for the Norwegian Escape. Norwegian Escape Nostalgic Arrival.

Image
Norwegian Escape in New York Harbor. Due to the size of the ships today, and the amount of supplies and luggage associated with large ships, ships normally arrive in New York / New Jersey between 1:30 AM and 5:00 AM. The ships are docked and luggage is already on the pier before the sun comes up. The Norwegian Escape's arrival today found the ship just off of mid-town Manhattan at 7:15 AM. It was a mild, clear, sunny morning and the large ship provided a treat to early morning risers along the iver's edge. Due to the hard-work of the crew, the ship was able to offload 4,000+ disembarking passengers and embark 4,000+ new vacation goers and still depart New York on time at 4 PM. Hats off to the crew! 5 Cruise Ships in New York Last Sunday.

Image
AIDAdiva AIDA Cruises Sails Seasonally from New York to New England Canada Hello Readers, I am trying to close some gaps on new articles that were missed and I failed to mention. This past Sunday (9/24), the Port of New York and New Jersey played host to 5 cruise ships. The attraction of fall foliage and New England / Canada cruises has ships from all over the globe congregating in New York. Many European Cruise Lines like AIDA and P&O focus on specific demographics. P&O on the British market and cruise passengers, while AIDA focuses on German cruise passengers. These ships usually spend at least overnight stay in the Big Apple to offer passengers time to explore the city. This past weekend, P&O's Aurora and AIDA's AIDAdiva were alongside as well as Norwegian Cruise Line's Norwegian Escape, Celebrity Cruises' Celebrity Summit and Cunard's Queen Mary 2. Every one of these ships sailed from New York to New England / Canada. There was at-l...

Norwegian Cruise Line's Norwegian Escape To Offer After Midnight Musical in Supper Club Cabaret Show

The announcement, which illustrates the company’s dedication to high-caliber entertainment, comes on the heels of its successful launch of Tony Award®-winning musical Jersey Boys and its original production ¡HAVANA! as well as the debut of Syd Norman’s Pour House, an authentic and immersive experience inspired by the greatest clubs in American rock ‘n’ roll history.  The increase in star power is in response to the incredible reception of Broadway’s own, Tony Award®-nominated, Brenda Braxton, who has routinely starred in After Midnight aboard Norwegian Escape since its introduction into the fleet in 2015. “We are thrilled to engage these celebrated Broadway stars and very happy...

Norwegian Cruise Line's Norwegian Escape Departure Delayed Due To Fueling.

Image
Norwegian Cruise Line's Norwegian Escape Delayed Dur to Fueling Issues Sunday (yesterday) was a unique day in New York with scattered thunderstorms and frequent breaks of sunshine, bright blue skies and fluffy clouds. During the key departure hour (4 PM) the Celebrity Summit actually departed a little early leaving at 3:50 PM under bright sunshine. I was anxiously awaiting the departure of the Norwegian Escape at 4 PM but at 5 PM I was still waiting. It appears that the re-fueling of the ship for her 7 day cruise to Bermuda was running drastically behind. Refueling usually takes 4-6 hours.  It was not until about 7:50 PM where the Norwegian Escape pulled away from the pier and headed down the Hudson River. The departure delay is NOT expected to impact the ship's schedule since 2 days are allowed for the 1 - 1.5 day trip to Bermuda. Refueling delays are not common and I can say I was disappointed because the 4 hour delay was too long to stay to see the ship depart. C...

Cruise Ships Increase Speed in Order to Get Ahead of Hurricane.

Image
Norwegian Escape - Norwegian Cruise Lines Sails for Bermuda Today (Sunday) the Norwegian Escape and Celebrity Summit departed New York / Cape Liberty, NJ destined for Bermuda. Although both ships left their pier on time, the ships appeared to be traveling at an unusually faster speed than normal. While watching the evening news, the weather person mentioned that tropical storm Chris has the potential to become a hurricane within the next day and is located off the coast of North Carolina. It appears the both ships were speeding up to get ahead of the storm and have the storm pass behind them. It was an absolutely beautiful day in New York today with a temperature of 90 degrees and low humidity and the weather conditions were ideal for a departure. Celebrity Cruises and Norwegian Cruise Line offer 7-day cruises from New Jersey / New York spending 3 days in Bermuda. Carnival offers an occasion cruise from New York to the pink sand island as well. There are other cruises where Bermuda is a port of call and combined with Caribbean destinations. Bermuda Tip.
